CRAZY CHICKEN MAMA WEARING PONY EARRINGS
This artwork is for a 16″ x 12″ with a 1.5″ inch profile.
You’ll find a supplies used list towards the end of this post.
Well, well, this pretty lady is my crazy chicken mama! She’s a fun farm girl who doesn’t mind being a little flashy.
I can only imagine this girl would have a brightly colored pink chicken coop in her backyard! Oh, wait, that’s me.

MORE ON THE DETAILS
Well, I suppose if you’re viewing this post, you may be a chicken fan, so let’s start with the sparkly chicken.
The head of this hen is covered in fine blue glitter, and the body is a combination of fine and chunky glitter, acrylic paint, and paint markers.
The eye gives off a bit of a folk art vibe with the turquoise coloring, and I did some finger painting to blend the chicken’s red comb.
Next, I want to give you a close-up of the butterfly.
I painted this one with acrylic paint, paint markers, and a little glitter.
This particular butterfly took a while to paint because there was a lot of drying time between all the color and pattern layers.
This chicken mama would not be considered flashy if it weren’t for her accessories!
Her pony earrings were painted individually on separate pieces of scrap canvas. I cut the pony shapes out after painting and added the embroidery floss before adhering them to the panel.
I think it’s amusing that the embroidery floss dangles off the canvas.
As a Pony fan, these earrings are tops!
Tops is my go to slang word for OUTSTANDING!
Besides using embroidery floss on the earrings, I created Xs along the center hairline.
I also added some sparkle to her already rainbow-colored hair with some areas of glitter and a few glitter stars.
You will find this piece under the Farm-Her category of my art collections.
