Between my house and my parent’s house, we have a handful of yard games that we’ve collected in our garages over the years for backyard gameplay.

As spring is here and summer is fast approaching, I thought I’d give a share of some of the games we’ve enjoyed over the years, plus some new games I’d like to play with my family.

Yard games are perfect for good weather days, and they bring everyone together for a good laugh and GET US ALL OFF OUR PHONES!

Unless, of course, we’re trying to catch a video blooper.

If you need a good yard game to have on hand in your garage for some backyard gameplay, any of these will be a hit.

JENGA GIANT

First on my list is the oversized yard Jenga Giant!

The game set we have was gifted to my husband for his birthday.

IDEA ALERT: YARD GAMES MAKE GREAT GIFTS!!

This game is my favorite, and I’m always so impressed by how well the wooden blocks stay balanced before the TUMBLE!

Who doesn’t love JENGA?

WASHER TOSS

Washer Toss: This is a simple and fun game to play. The washers will be a little rough on the box, and since the box is wood, you do want to store it indoors when not playing.

DISC GOLF

Disc Golf is a a game worth learning, and you can even do it in your backyard with a practice yard kit.

Once you feel confident with your game play, head to one of your local Disc Golf courses and put yourself up to the challenge.

I am not a skilled player, but I still play a couple of our local courses every summer.

LADDER TOSS

Ladder Toss: From little kids to grandparents, this is a game anyone can play.
You simply toss the rope balls at the ladder and try to get them to wrap around.

BADMINTON

Badminton is another one of my personal favorites.

It’s a great game to have out for birthday parties and graduations.

TIC TAC TOE

Tic Tac Toe is a game that needs no explanation. We all know how to play. It’s a simple yard game that can be enjoyed with small talk and competition.

KUBB

Kubb Viking Clash Toss Game: This game is a cross between bowling, horseshoes, and corn hole that can be played with 2-6 players.

You want to knock over the short wooden blocks called Kubbs on the opposite ends of the playing field with the cylindrical batons, and then you have to knock down the king.

ROLLORS

Rollors Backyard Game is a game that needs both skill and luck.

Players will roll the disks at the goal, and points are awarded to the player/team that positions their disks closest to the goal.

And if you just want a good game for the patio table, the number one game we play around here is Mexican Train Dominoes.
